We fell in love with these beautiful gemstones the first time we saw them. Red Andesine-Labradorite has a rich red color and a glow about it that just can�t be captured in a photo � these gemstones must be seen to be believed. We believe these are comparable in beauty to fine rubies at a fraction of the cost. Andesine-Labradorite is hard to find and appears to be available in very limited quantities. While much mystery has surrounded this stone, regarding origin and treatment, one thing is for sure, the beauty is alluring. The naming convention has also been disputed. Andesine-Labradorite is believed to be a Feldspar with composition that puts it on the border of Andesine and Labradorite in terms of classification, so it is often referred to as simply Andesine-Labradorite. While the industry once thought these stones to be untreated, it is now commonly believed that the stones likely received at least heat treatment to bring out the color. Heat treatment is very common and used on many popular gemstones including Tanzanite and Sapphires. Given the mystery surrounding these gems, we are unsure of the exact treatment they may have received. We are sure of their beauty though. The color draws you in. The rich green variety often exhibits a color shift phenomenon toward red. Both are stunning and will make a wonderful addition to your jewelry collection.
