Quick Mill Andreja Premium Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine
Overview
Every now and again you find an espresso machine that just seems to get it
all right. The Andreja Premium is one of our favorite machines in the
semi-automatic semi-commercial class because it does just that. Some may point
to the beautiful exterior of heavy weight polished stainless wrapping an
attractive and well thought out design as a clue to what is found within. Some
may focus on the features with dual pressure gauges, steam and hot water - both
not always found in these machines, especially with no-burn swivel arms. Some
may focus on the commercial quality components throughout such as the legendary
E-61 group head, large 1.6L boiler and powerful Ulka Pump. But the most
important feature of a semi-commercial or “prosumer” espresso machine is how
well it brews espresso and froths milk. This is where the Andreja Premium truly
shines – it just gets it right. This is a machine we find ourselves drawn to
time and again. When you take a deeper look, it is not wonder why.
Italian Origin
Quick Mill may not sound like a traditional Italian espresso machine
manufacturer, but Quick Mill is located in Senago (Milan) Italy and since 1945
has been known internationally for their quality designs and products. The
company tag line is “Create per durare nel tempo” which translates to “Made to
last for years”. This philosophy certainly explains the quality of components
found in the Andreja Premium. An investment in the Andreja Premium is an
investment that will last for years.
High-quality stainless steel construction #304
While most subscribe to the adage “you can’t judge a book by its cover”, the
rugged stainless steel construction of the Quick Mill Andreja Premium is not
only beautiful to behold, but also your fist hint as to the quality found
through and through.
E-61 commercial group head
The stuff espresso machine legends are made of. The widely recognized group
head is an industry standard.
Dual Pressure Guages:
With both a boiler and a group pressure gauge, you have all of the
information you really want to brew a perfect espresso. Many espresso machines
provide only a boiler pressure gauge if any at all. While this is helpful for
monitoring the state of your machine, the pump pressure gauge is the one that
monitors the state of the espresso shot you are pulling. This helpful feedback
provided can help you determine whether your grind and tamp are optimum and
consistent.
52 Watt Ulka Pump
This powerful pump has brass ends and thermal protection for quiet reliable
performance.
No-burn, swiveling stainless steel steam and hot water arms.
Even the experienced Barista can miss the small grip on a typical steam want
and touch the hot metal. With no-burn steam and hot water arms, you have a much
larger area to grab without getting burned.
Large 1.6 liter vertical insulated the boiler.
The large size provides great thermal stability and powerful steam. The
insulation helps retain heat aiding performance and reducing energy costs.
Large capacity easy empty drip tray
Many home machines fall short with the drip tray design. We have see many
that are shallow and wide making it easy to overflow and a real balancing act to
get to the sink without spilling. The Andreja drip tray design is particularly
well thought out. It is deep so it holds plenty of water and slides out easily.
Easy pressure stat access
Adjust the pressure stat without removing the cover to the espresso maker.
Magnetic tank water level sensor.
Unlike micro switches the magnetic water level sensor means quieter
operation and no adjustments.
High limit heating element protection with reset
Just press down to reset
Commercial steam and hot water valves.
Longer lasting design
Built-in heat exchanger
(brew coffee and steam milk simultaneously)
Thermo siphon circulation
(maintains consistent brewing temperature)
Available direct-connect kit
This kit includes everything you need to plumb your machine.
Lever-action Semiautomatic
The lever activates the pump for brewing for ease of use. (Not to be
confused with a manual lever machine)
Cup warmer
The top surface acts as a cup warmer. The hot water spout makes proper pre
heating of heavy ceramic cups a snap.
